acker velvet besteht im Kern aus den beiden Wiener Musikern Andreas Trobollowitsch
und Johannes Tröndle. Die beiden arbeiten seit 2005 im Bereich Klangkunst/Radiokunst
zusammen und sind seit 2007 mit dem elektro-akustischen Duo nörz auch live unterwegs.
Aus diesem Duo-Projekt hervorgegangen, stellt das neue Projekt acker velvet eine
klangliche und personelle Erweiterung dar. Die Debut-CD acker velvet – carbon &
chairs [monotype rec, 2012] wurde noch als Duo eingespielt, und wird nun gemeinsam
mit Gästen erstmals in Quintett-Besetzung live präsentiert.

The impulse to form Lokai was to capture, remodel and expand the sonic spectrum of
the guitar by means of electronics, confronting them with the original and pure sound
of the instrument. Along the axis of song formats and stochastic situations, Kmet and
Németh create tracks which oscillate between dense layers and fragile, ramified
constructions of fragmented melodies and sounds.
